How do Air Source Heat Pumps Work
An air source heat pump functions similarly to a refrigerator in reverse, extracting heat from outdoor air. Outdoor air flows over tubes containing refrigerant, heating it and causing it to change from liquid to gas. The gas is then compressed, raising its pressure.
