How does the OZEV EV Chargepoint grant work?

How does charging an electric car work?
Battery electric vehicles, or BEVs, use electricity stored in a battery pack to power an electric motor and turn the wheels. When depleted, the batteries are recharged using grid electricity, either from a wall socket or a dedicated charging unit.
How much does it cost to charge an electric car at at a charging point?
From home charging your electricity bill will show this cost – on average it will be between 10-34 pence. To fill up, if you look at petrol being 160p per litre, electricity will be between 10-34p pence per kWh.
